Gaby is our version of the good trench coat: oversized, stylish, sublime, practical, eco-friendly, sturdy, water-repellent and breathable. A great iconic classic, revisited with a Patine sauce to make it the piece you will wear all the time and for many years. It brings cool to the classic, from classic to cool, it works in all seasons on more or less layers of clothing. It's the one we saw in our dreams and in the pages of vintage Special Fashion magazines with New Yorkers walking fast. Sunglasses, cap, Converse, latte optional. Oh Gaby .
2 years after the first edition, the Gaby trench is now available in 2 colors (Beige sablee and Vert Kaki Dark Olive) and in a new material, more rigid, still water-repellent and super conscientious. The fit itself does not change.
We listened to you and changed the shade of beige, slightly lighter, still flattering on all skin tones. We are sure you will still love it in 2083.
If you are not (yet) a fan of oversize, we recommend that you take a size below your usual size. example: my usual size is M I take the Gaby trench in XS/S.
• GOTS cotton comes from Turkey
• Biofeel Polyamide is a partly bio-sourced polyamide. It is made from 64% castor oil (non-edible and not from deforestation). The castor oil is grown in India.
• The gabardine weave provides initial resistance to light rain. The water-repellent properties are reinforced by the application of a C0 water-repellent product (without fluorinated molecules = PFAS free).
• The material is woven in Italy and the trench coat is made in Portugal.
• The presence of polyamide allows us to have a faster drying (polyamide fiber with low hydrophilicity) and to obtain the desired fall
• The lining is made of recycled polyester and spun in Spain -> 30% is SEAQUAL certified, it is recycled polyester from marine waste (collected on beaches or at sea). The remaining 70% is made from waste.
• The production is done in Portugal
• The Gaby trench coats are then delivered by truck to Angers to our logistician

Gaby is available in three sizes: XS/S - M/L - XL/XXL.
It is naturally oversized, take your usual size or even one size smaller if you are not (yet) comfortable with oversize!
In our opinion, length is the secret to trench coats with style.
We wanted Gaby to be “just long enough” for a crazy look, but which prevents us from tripping over ourselves or giving the impression of having stolen a giant’s coat.
This length was refined thanks to you during the fittings from 1m58 to 1m90 (anyone?).
Very important: our experiments have always been carried out in Converse, since that's how they are worn, the Patine woman runs everywhere.

Comme pour tout le catalogue Patine, le prix est déterminé à partir des coûts.
- D'abord le coût de la matière. La matière est une gabardine tissée en Italie dont l'armure permet une resistance initiale aux fines pluies. Les propriétés déperlantes sont renforcées par l'application d'un produit déperlant C0 (sans molécules fluorées, les fameuses PFAS). Au-delà son impact environnemental fortement allégé par rapport aux matières techniques habituelles, il s'agit d'une matière ultra haut de gamme, aux propriétés respirantes et résistante dans le temps, au tombé sublime.
- Ensuite le coût de la confection. Le trench est confectionné au Portugal dans un atelier à la pointe de l'innovation qui collabore avec les plus grands noms du luxe...et maintenant Patine. Nos choix de construction et de finitions sont coûteux mais nous les avons jugé essentiels pour la durabilité du trench. Par exemple, les finitions intérieures sont entièrement recouvertes de biais et coutures anglaises pour renforcer les coutures importantes. Des finitions laissées visibles tellement elles sont haut de gamme et solides : vous penserez à nous la prochaine fois que vous verrez un trench doublé à l'intérieur... Le prix de confection a été négocié, mais respecte notre engagement de rémunération éthique.
- Les autres coûts : le prix intègre aussi les coûts de développement du projet (le temps et l'expertise du modéliste génial qui collabore avec Patine, les prototypes, les tests techniques...), le transport et nos coûts de fonctionnement.
- Enfin nous appliquons les 20% de TVA.
- À propos du poids de chacun de ces coûts dans le prix : nos investissements en publicité, égéries, influence sont limités. Nous faisons peu de démarques et nous nous interdisons de gonfler nos prix pour intégrer un budget de promotion.
- Important : la marque Patine est principalement distribuée en direct sur le site et dans notre boutique. Si nous devions passer à une distribution classique en "wholesale", c'est-à-dire en magasin multimarque, nous devrions augmenter le prix pour rémunérer nos partenaires magasins. À titre indicatif, nous estimons que le prix du trench passerait environ à 650€ au lieu des 450€, et ce en gardant des coefficients de marge dans la moyenne basse du marché.
Pour conclure :
- Il y a autant de prix, de façon de décider de ses prix et de structures de prix que de marques.
- Un prix n'est pas forcément indicatif de la qualité, la durabilité et l'impact environnemental d'un vêtement.
- La notions de qualité diffère selon les marques. Chez Patine elle se définit par un triptyque esthétique, durabilité et engagement.
- Nous ne prétendons pas que notre prix est bas. Cependant nous revendiquons un coût par porter ou "cost per wear" très bas. Nous construisons au quotidien un modèle de marque innovant qui propose un rapport qualité/prix inédit.
For this new edition of Gaby, we wanted to go even further in terms of traceability, which led us to have to change suppliers. We also wanted to work with a material with a heavier and slippery hand at the same time
to obtain a perfect fall, a heavy and slippery hand at the same time which also makes it crease-resistant.

The cut is oversized and the sleeves have the volume needed to allow for thick layers but never without weighing down the silhouette.

The trench is available exclusively for pre-order from Saturday, February 8 to Sunday, February 23 at midnight. Delivery is scheduled for the end of March 2025. Once your pre-order is confirmed, you will follow the manufacturing and shipping steps by email.
Exchanges and returns are easy and free. We produce a small extra stock for exchanges if the size does not fit.
Payment in 3 x available via Alma. We do not encourage you to use it if these pieces are currently too expensive for your budget. On the other hand, we think it is useful to use this payment method to treat yourself to a Patine piece instead of 2 or 3 fast fashion pieces.

The Gaby trench coat is a great iconic classic, but not boring. We can have fun with all these details which are anything but superfluous: the length is designed to suit young and old alike, the corozo buttons are sublime, the straps at the wrists and the belt give it a vintage side. Its water-repellent gabardine is made of 66% organic cotton and 34% post-consumer recycled polyester. Interior lining in ripstop, a guarantee of solidity, is made of 100% Seaqual® recycled polyester (polyester recycled in Spain, 30% of which comes from the recycling of waste present in the sea and the rest from the collection of plastic bottles).
Easy care: wash at 30° inside out, 600 revolutions maximum.
