Care instructions / Taffy care guide, our recycled taffeta material

To ensure optimal longevity for your outfitTaffy,in 100% recycled polyester taffeta, here are all our care tips!

Our advice for properly washing yourTaffy

For your laundry, choose an Ecocert and/or Ecolabel certified product.

Do not use products containing chlorine.Taffy is a taffeta made from 100% recycled polyester. Since it is a synthetic fiber, we recommend using a suitable washing bag (we offer you the Guppyfriend) to avoid releasing microplastics into wastewater and nature.

Wash inside out at 30°, ideal program to save energy but also to make the fibers last longer.

Program a light spin and avoid leaving yourTaffytoo long in the machine once washed, it will then take on bad creases. It's best to lay it out right away or let it sit on a chair before you can lay it out.

Our advice for drying and ironing yourTaffy

↳ Avoid the dryer which breaks the fiber of clothes and which consumes a lot of energy.

Favor drying in the open air on a dryer or a hanger which also prevents yourTaffytakes bad creases. Letting it hang while it is still damp will smooth it naturally.

↳ YourTaffydoes not need to be ironed once dried but it can still be ironed if it has taken on a bad crease. The taffetaTaffymark easily so always iron with a gentle iron (1 point on your iron). You can slide a damp cotton cloth between the iron and the garment to help with ironing or prefer to use a steam generator.

Our advice in case of stains

↳ Without machine. To space out washing, there's nothing like knowing how to treat occasional stains and for this, we tested baking soda and Marseille soap and the latter is our favorite solution!

Be careful to choose a real Marseille soap with more than 72% vegetable oil. It should be moistened and rubbed directly onto the stain so as to form a small deposit and left to act for fifteen to twenty minutes before rinsing with clean water. Do not hesitate to rinse a second time to avoid any soap deposits once the canvas is dry or to repeat the process a second time in case of a resistant stain. Once yourTaffyrinsed, let it air dry.

↳ In the machine. To treat a stain during washing, apply Marseille soap on it to form a small deposit a few minutes before turning your Taffy over and putting it in the drum (a program at 30° is also enough to remove stains ). Be careful to choose a real Marseille soap with more than 72% vegetable oil to ensure its effectiveness!

If you don't have Marseille soap, you can spread a little liquid detergent directly on the stain and leave it for a few minutes before using yourTaffyin machine.
