Are you wondering how to wash yourPower stretchand take care of it?

After 3 weeks of tests at the Patine Studio where there is now a sweet smell of laundry, here are our maintenance tips to make your pieces last, let's go!

Our advice for properly washing yourPower stretch

First of all, we advise you to use an ecocert or ecolabel detergent so as not to damage the fiber. No need to overdose on detergent, it can even affect the knitwear.

Concerning the temperature, we advise you to wash it cold or at 30°C inside out and to select a spin between 600 and 1000 revolutions.

If you prefer to wash your piece by hand, we advise you to remove as much water as possible by then placing it in a dry, clean towel.

Our advice for drying, ironing and storing your pieces

↳ Drying can be done flat or on a drying rack/tancarville.

We do not recommend using the dryer, which is good neither for the fiber nor for the environment. The heat added during tumble drying can really harm the elastane fiber. It is very important to respect this condition!

In addition, this material dries relatively quickly: it takes around 10 minutes to dry a large drop of water.

To guarantee even better quality for the longest time, dry your piece out of direct sunlight and upside down.

↳ Ironing is not really recommended, the material does not crease easily and drying properly can help avoid this step.

For fans of ironing: we recommend ironing your piece at low temperature (max 110°C) and on the reverse side to avoid damaging the covering seams. Be careful to respect this maximum temperature so as not to degrade the elastane.

↳ You can hang your piece using a clip hanger or fold your garment on a shelf. We advise you to fold it because this storage does not pull on the stitches (and thus eliminates any risk of deformation).

In case of

Stitches can be snagged, you should definitely not pull on them or cut them, otherwise a hole will appear. It is possible to enter the stitch with a hook or a needle.

Our advice in case of stains

The materialPower Stretchcan be stained but these stains come off easily with a machine wash.

To remove stains, apply stain remover to the area to be cleaned and differentiate between a colored stain, an oily stain and an aqueous stain (water-based stain).

↳ If watery stain:

Mix a few teaspoons of baking soda (depending on the size of the stain) with a splash of water. The whole thing should form a sort of somewhat solid paste; if there is too much water and it doesn't mix very well, don't hesitate to add a little bicarbonate. You can add a little of your detergent which helps to bind the mixture

Spread the mixture directly on the stains so as to cover them completely.

Leave it on for 20-30 minutes then gently scrub the stained areas with a clothes brush or an old toothbrush.

Rinse with clean water then let air dry.

Otherwise Marseille soap also works. You can buy stain remover bars which are generally gray in color. Moisten the bar, rub circularly for 5-10. Leave on for 15-20 minutes then always rinse with cold water if it is a watery stain.

↳ If it's an oily stain, take some dishwashing liquid, put a drop on the stain and rinse with hot water.

In machine

To treat a stain during washing, apply Marseille soap on it to form a small deposit a few minutes before turning your shirt over and putting it in the drum (a program at 30° is also enough to remove stains ). Be careful to choose a real Marseille soap with more than 72% vegetable oil to ensure its effectiveness!
