Care instructions / Jessie care guide, our organic overshirt fabric

Wondering how to care for your shirt?Jessie? We present to you our maintenance recipes to take care of it!

Our advice for properly washing yourJessie

It is advisable to wait until you have worn it several times (not necessarily consecutively) before washing it. It's cowboy spirit, and it's also synonymous with saving energy and water #bravovous.

Do not use artificial softeners or bleaches - and avoid washing powders which contain them and which may affect the color of the fabric.

Ideally, if you have aJessie Medium blue, it is a detergent for dark textiles to preserve the color of the denim fabric as much as possible even if it will fade naturally over time. For your laundry, choose an Ecocert and/or Ecolabel certified product.

↳ Without machine. In your bathtub or a basin, run lukewarm water and immerse your shirt in it, inside out, immersing it completely.

Add a capful of liquid laundry detergent, make sure it mixes throughout the bath by gently swirling your shirt to distribute the detergent, and leave to soak for 15-20 minutes. For the first wash, you can add a small glass of white vinegar to fix the color.

Change the water and rinse with clean cold water. Wring yourJessiegently then put it to dry.

↳ In the machine. First of all, it's best to avoid filling your machine to the brim, as this will prevent the clothes from spinning efficiently in the machine and being properly washed/rinsed/wrung out. Wash inside out at 30°, ideal program to save energy but also so that the fibers last longer, do not weaken and do not lose their colors! To ensure a lifetime of the beautiful colors of yourJessie, we advise you not to mix it with other colors and to do laundry by color. You can wash it in a washing bag (Guppyfriend style) to avoid scratches on the snaps. Program a light spin. Avoid letting your Jessie hang around in a damp ball in the machine once washed, otherwise it will get wrinkles.

Our advice for drying and ironing yourJessie

↳ Avoid the dryer which breaks the fiber of clothes and which consumes a lot of energy. Opt for drying in the open air on a dryer or a hanger which also prevents your shirt from getting wrinkles and smoothes it naturally.

↳ Your shirtJessiedoes not need to be ironed once dried unless it has taken a bad crease, but it can still be ironed, always on the reverse side, with a soft iron. You can slide a cotton fabric between the iron and the shirt to help with ironing or prefer to use a steam generator. Once dry, its fabric retains its beautiful drape.

Our advice to soften yourJessie

To keep your shirt soft, we strongly advise you to wash it with white vinegar instead of fabric softener when you put it in the machine. It is in fact a natural softener and anti-limescale (and the less scale your machine has, the less rough your laundry is). You can also soak it in a bath of lukewarm water with a small glass of white vinegar before putting it in the washing machine.

Our advice in case of stains

↳ Without machine. To space out washing, there's nothing like knowing how to treat occasional stains and for this, Marseille soap is our favorite solution! Be careful to choose a real Marseille soap with more than 72% vegetable oil. It should be moistened and rubbed directly onto the stain on the canvas so as to form a small deposit and left to act for fifteen to twenty minutes before rinsing with clean water. Do not hesitate to rinse a second time to avoid any soap deposits once the canvas is dry or to repeat the process a second time in case of a resistant stain. Once your shirt is rinsed, let it air dry.

↳ In the machine. To treat a stain during washing, apply Marseille soap on it to form a small deposit a few minutes before turning your shirt over and putting it in the drum (a program at 30° is also enough to remove stains ). Be careful to choose a real Marseille soap with more than 72% vegetable oil to ensure its effectiveness! You can also spread a little bit of your detergent directly on the stain before putting your shirt in the machine.

Our advice for maintaining the color of yourJessie

To avoid fading too quickly and fix the colors: you can let your shirt soak in a bath of lukewarm water with two small glasses of white vinegar before washing it, it is a natural fixative.

To use in the machine, add a little white vinegar to the softener container. These operations are recommended during the first wash but do not hesitate to repeat the operation over time.
